Position: Director of Sport & Commercial Services, UEA
Phil has responsibility for the management of Sportspark and its community obligations under the Lottery funding arrangements. Leading a team of Assistant Directors and Heads of Department he aims to ensure Sportspark maintains its flagship status in the region. In addition, as Director of Sport for UEA he works in liaison with his Assistant Director Student Sport and the Student Union to provide a comprehensive student sport programme. Combining these two elements helps ensure that Sportspark provides a sporting programme offering from grassroots activity right up to supporting the region’s high performing athletes.
Position: Assistant Director – Operations, Sportspark
Coordinating the day to day operation of Sportspark, Ben supports six Heads of Department that cover the Aquatic facilities, Indoor and Outdoor courts and pitches, Catering operations, Fitness facilities, Health, Safety and Quality of operations and Customer Relations management. As well as maintaining the highest standards of service provision and upkeep, this also includes the programming of each facility.
Position: Head of Department (Health & Safety, Quality), Sportspark
Anna is responsible for compliance in terms of Health and Safety, managing the Quality Management Systems that act as the building blocks for all services within Sportspark and coordinates the training program within the facility. Anna leads on the national benchmarking scheme for leisure centres, ‘Quest’, with direct responsibility for support services including maintenance and cleaning.
Position: Head of Department (Dryside Facilities), Sportspark
Craig has responsibility for the programming and service standards for all Sportspark’s indoor and outdoor sports facilities. Craig works in conjunction with the team at Sportspark to maintain the excellent facilities that are on offer while liaising with hirers and resident sports clubs, focussing on programming and service provision standards being maintained to the highest levels at all times.
Position: Head of Department (Customer Relations), Sportspark Rebecca is responsible for driving an increase to new member sales and the retention of existing members. She leads development, implementation and continuous improvement to the Sportspark customer journey and is responsible for the development of strategies and campaigns to increase and retain customers. She also develops new strands of activity and the evaluation of success through increased income and customer satisfaction.
Position: Head of Department (Fitness Facilities), Sportspark
Iain is responsible for managing Sportspark's team of fitness advisors, personal trainers and group exercise instructors. Iain's role includes developing the group exercise programme and gym timetable alongside retention and customer satisfaction rates.
Position: Head of Department (Catering), Sportspark
Alex is responsible for the operation of the Sportscafé within Sportspark. Leading a team of experienced Catering Assistants and Chefs, Alex aims to ensure both the product and service remain to be delivered to the highest standards at all times. As the Catering Manager he also works in liaison with the Conference and Events Department to assist in providing hospitality to all bookings within the Sportspark.
Position: Head of Department (Aquatics), Sportspark
Thomas’s role includes developing the swimming pool and ‘learn to swim’ programmes. Thomas works in partnership with local swimming clubs and schools ensuring the learn to swim, water safety and competition swimming are delivered to a high standard. Thomas is also responsible for managing Sportspark's team of Sports Assistants and Swimming Instructors.
