Position: Director of Sport, UEA
Phil has responsibility for the management of Sportspark and its community obligations under the Lottery funding arrangements. Leading a team of Assistant Directors and Heads of Department he aims to ensure Sportspark maintains its flagship status in the region. In addition, as Director of Sport for UEA he works in liaison with his Assistant Director Student Sport and the Student Union to provide a comprehensive student sport programme. Combining these two elements helps ensure that Sportspark provides a sporting programme offering from grassroots activity right up to supporting the region’s high performing athletes.
Position: Assistant Director – Community Sport, Sportspark
Maria leads the frontline delivery of community sport within the Sportspark. Working with customers, volunteers, coaches, partner organisations, clubs, Local Authorities and National Governing Bodies, she is responsible for organising a the thriving sporting participation programmes for all ages from ante-natal to Fitness In Later Life (50+) and all abilities ranging from grassroots through to elite performers. Maria acts as the Safeguarding Officer for the facilities as well as coordinating Events, Conference and Progress Sport Services (outreach) departments along with Sportscamps and Birthday Parties.
Position: Assistant Director – Student Sport, UEA
Rachel is responsible for the overall development of student sport to deliver an all-inclusive programme for inactive students through to elite performers. Her responsibilities include programming and administration of sports facility allocations (including Colney Lane) and liaising with the SU regarding UEA Sports Clubs activities and events. She is also responsible for the ‘Ziggurat’ Challenge’, working with volunteer academic activators & UEA Staff, Sport England’s University Sports Activation Project ‘ueactive’ and intra-mural programmes liaising with HE NGB Activators.
Position: Assistant Director – Operations, Sportspark
Coordinating the day to day operation of Sportspark, Ben supports six Heads of Department that cover the Aquatic facilities, Indoor and Outdoor courts and pitches, Catering operations, Fitness facilities, Health, Safety and Quality of operations and Customer Relations management. As well as maintaining the highest standards of service provision and upkeep, this also includes the programming of each facility.
Position: Administration Manager, Sportspark
Jane manages a small team of Admin Assistants dealing with all aspects of Finance, Administration, Recruitment & Payroll. Jane is also responsible for the configuration and update of the booking system.
Position: Head of Department (Health & Safety, Quality), Sportspark
Anna is responsible for compliance in terms of Health and Safety, managing the Quality Management Systems that act as the building blocks for all services within Sportspark and coordinates the training program within the facility. Anna leads on the national benchmarking scheme for leisure centres, ‘Quest’, with direct responsibility for support services including maintenance and cleaning.
Position: Head of Department (Dryside Facilities), Sportspark
Craig has responsibility for the programming and service standards for all Sportspark’s indoor and outdoor sports facilities. Craig works in conjunction with the team at Sportspark to maintain the excellent facilities that are on offer while liaising with hirers and resident sports clubs, focussing on programming and service provision standards being maintained to the highest levels at all times.
Position: Head of Department (Aquatic Facilities), Sportspark
Liam is responsible for managing Sportspark’s team of Sports Assistants and for the programming of the Olympic sized 50m pool including the SPLASH Learn To Swim programme. Liam's role ensures that staff are qualified and trained to the highest of standards in leisure and that the pool programme reflects our mission statement of “All day every day for the community”, providing activities and sessions for all.
Position: Head of Department (Customer Relations), Sportspark
Fearn manages the sales, front of house and marketing team at Sportspark, whilst developing and implementing customer relations activities. More specifically the sales and promotional plans are coordinated through formal advertising and outreach activities as well as use of all forms of digital media. To create a great customer experience Fearn oversees the facility’s customer insight programme that seeks ongoing feedback to ensure programme and service development is meeting user expectations.
Position: Head of Department (Catering), Sportspark
Tania is responsible for the operation of the Sportscafé within Sportspark. Leading a team of experienced Catering Assistants and Chefs, Tania aims to ensure both the product and service remain to be delivered to the highest standards at all times. As the Catering Manager she also works in liaison with the Conference and Events Department to assist in providing hospitality to all bookings within the Sportspark.
