The Sportspark has an eight-lane international standard athletics track with an advanced synthetic surface offering an excellent training and competition facility for athletes from club to International level. Situated next to the Sportspark building, the track benefits from the changing rooms, meeting rooms, outside spectator balcony and Sports Café. The City of Norwich Athletics Club is based at the Sportspark. Road running is also available from the Sportspark.

The Sportspark has an eight-lane international standard athletics track with an advanced synthetic surface offering an excellent training and competition facility for athletes from club to International level. Situated next to the Sportspark building, the track benefits from the changing rooms, meeting rooms, outside spectator balcony and Sports Café. The City of Norwich Athletics Club is based at the Sportspark. Road running is also available from the Sportspark.

LEA schools have exclusive priority use of the track Monday to Friday 0900 to 1700 if booked in advance. The track will not be available for use by the public during these times whilst a LEA school is present.

UEA Athletics club have exclusive use of the track on Wednesdays from 1400 to 1600 and Thursdays from 1700 to 1815 (during the academic year).


Athletics / How

Every user of the Athletics track should purchase a track band before entering the track area. These bands are purchased at the main Sportspark reception. The track bands should be worn on the wrists at all times during your session.

For all time periods last entry will be 45 minutes before closure of the Track or session time.

The track area must be vacated by the specified closure time of the session or the day.

The track lighting will be put on as required by the natural light levels during the evening sessions only.

All use is subject to complying with UK Athletics Approved Code of Practice for Track and Field Events and the Sportspark guidelines. Copies of these documents are available for inspection at Sports Reception or through affiliated Athletic Clubs.

If you wish to use the Sportspark for road running purposes you should also pay at the main reception for a road running band which will allow entry back into the building once you return from your run. Please see Road Running section for more information

For athletes using the Sportspark as a base for road running a wristband giving re-entry will be issued with the running fee.

* Pay and Play customers will also be charged the standard 50p admission fee.


Term and Conditions,
1) All athletics track users should obtain a track band from reception before entering the track area. The bands should be worn on the wrist at all times.
2) All users of the athletics track must obey by the safety procedures of UK Athletics.
3) Users must refrain from using lanes 1 and 2 during training.
4) Sprint and hurdle training should be completed on the back straight.
5) Users should minimise their use of the final 30 metres before the finish line.


Club Links
The City of Norwich Athletics club use the Sportspark athletics track for the majority of their training. The club can be contacted via their website at
www.conac.org.uk. The club caters for junior beginners right through to Junior and Senior International level competitors. The club also has a successful road running section.
