In addition, any adult (16+) that has successfully completed and passed a Sportspark Improvers Climbing Course from March 2016 onwards, will be able to book onto a climbing induction free of charge.

Climbing Induction Programme
During the climbing induction programme, participants will be asked to demonstrate the following:

  • tying in
  • putting on your harness

  • lowering

The induction will also include:

  • a question and answer session
  • hazard identification

You will also be asked to sign an agreement to confirm that you understand and accept Sportspark’s climbing registration terms and conditions.

Once you have passed the induction, you will be able to climb unsupervised.

If you have not demonstrated the required climbing skills during the induction, or have not provided satisfactory responses/knowledge during the question and answer session, you will be required to attend one of Sportspark’s six week climbing courses or arrange one-to-one climbing tuition, before reassessment can take place. The climbing instructor will be able to provide you with further details of our courses/further training opportunities during the induction.

Climbers Aged 16 or 17
Please note that any climber aged 16 or 17 will need their registration form signed by a parent or guardian.
