Student Clubs

The Union coordinates a wide range of Sports clubs open to UEA students. The meeting times and locations for most clubs are shown on the programme (club programme).

UEA competes in the British University Sports Association Championships (BUSA) in most sports, with fixtures taking place on Wednesday afternoons between October and February.

Ian Welch - Union Sports Co-ordinator

Ian provides help and advice to Union clubs and ensures they operate safely. He undertakes risk assessments and monitors and accompanies high risk clubs on their activities. He is a RYA instructor, PADI professional and an FA coach.

Jackie Robinson - Union Sports Administrator

provides administrative support to Ian and Anna and is the initial point of contact between club officers and the union. She is involved with the day-to-day administration of over 40 union sports clubs, and in particular administers BUCS and other sporting fixtures.

Anna Thonlinson - Union Student Sports Officer

Anna is the elected representative for 2009/10 and chairs the Union sports committee. She is the signatory for all the forms that require Union authorisation and also represents the clubs on the PES Sports Reps forum.
