About our Sport Courses

Our Sports Courses are designed to help participants build confidence, learn new skills, and have fun through structured activity. From scaling new heights in our climbing courses to learning precision and control in archery, there’s something for everyone. We also offer multisport courses for younger children, giving them the chance to try a variety of activities in a supportive and engaging environment.

Climbing Courses

Discover one of the UK’s fastest-growing sports with our range of climbing courses for adults and juniors. Whether you’re trying climbing for the first time or looking to take your skills to the next level, our qualified instructors are here to guide you every step of the way.

Our 6-week courses provide learners with 9 hours of contact time, at less than £5.50 per hour. All sessions are led by highly experienced, CWI-qualified instructors, ensuring you receive quality guidance and support throughout.

You’ll have access to our 32-route, 15-rope belay indoor climbing wall, suitable for all ability levels and designed to provide appropriate challenges for every participant. The course curriculum covers not only climbing techniques but also important skills such as identifying hazards, safe belaying, and tying common climbing knots.

With small group sizes and expert coaching, you’ll build confidence, develop your skills, and enjoy climbing in a safe and supportive environment.

A climbing induction is also included within these courses at no extra cost!

Adult beginners

Open to ages 16+

Perfect for anyone new to climbing, this 6-week course introduces you to the basics of one of the UK’s fastest-growing sports. You’ll learn how to climb safely and confidently using the correct techniques, all under the guidance of a qualified instructor.

Open to ages 16+, with a maximum of 8 participants per course to ensure a friendly and supportive learning experience.

Adult Improvers

Open to ages 16+

Ideal for those who have completed our Beginner Climbing Course, this 6-week Improvers Course helps you take your skills to the next level. You’ll build confidence, refine your technique, and learn more advanced climbing skills with support from a qualified instructor.

Each course has a maximum of 8 participants, ensuring plenty of personal guidance and a supportive learning environment.

Adult Lead Climbing

Open to ages 16+ and suitable for climbers comfortable at grade 5C/6A

This 3-week advanced course is perfect for experienced climbers looking to take the next step and learn the fundamentals of lead climbing. You’ll develop new techniques, build confidence, and gain the skills needed to progress safely in one of the UK’s fastest-growing sports.

Each course has a maximum of 4 participants, ensuring plenty of personal coaching and guidance during the 120-minute sessions.

Junior Beginners

Open to ages 8–15

Perfect for young climbers new to the sport, this 6-week course introduces the basics of climbing in a safe and supportive environment. You’ll learn correct techniques, build confidence, and develop the skills needed to enjoy climbing and progress further.

Each course has a maximum of 6 participants, allowing for more one-to-one instruction, improved supervision, and a personalised learning experience.

Junior Improvers

Open to ages 8–15

Designed for young climbers who have completed the Beginner Climbing Course, this 6-week Improvers Course helps build on existing skills and introduces higher-level techniques. Sessions are led by a qualified instructor, focusing on skill development, confidence, and safe climbing practices.

Each course has a maximum of 6 participants, allowing for one-to-one coaching, improved supervision, and a personalised learning experience. On successful completion, participants can join our Junior Climbing Club, enjoying weekly sessions with qualified instructors.

Our coach is really creative about finding ways to make climbing challenging, without being impossible, and ways that we really feel we're improving. I feel very different at the end of this course to the beginning, able to tackle things I hadn't dreamt of.

Archery Courses

Archery is a precision sport that challenges focus, coordination, and control. Our beginner-friendly courses are suitable for both young people and adults, offering a fun and supportive way to try the sport or develop your skills.

Beginner archery

Adults and young people

Perfect for anyone trying archery for the first time, or looking to build on existing skills. Our courses are led by qualified archery instructors experienced in teaching beginners of all ages.

Over 6 weeks, you’ll learn the techniques of archery, improve your accuracy, and understand the safety rules of the sport. Each session includes a variety of fun activities, games, and challenges designed to develop your skills and keep you engaged.

The 4-week Archery course at Sportspark has been excellent! Max and Kieran are brilliant instructors and delivered the beginner course exceptionally well. I’ve really enjoyed it and am now looking to continue with a club.

Athletics Courses

Athletics throwing events challenge strength, technique and coordination. Our beginner-friendly courses give adults and young people the chance to learn the fundamentals of shot put, javelin, hammer and discus in a fun and supportive environment.

Develop your throwing skills

Perfect for adults and young people trying athletics for the first time, this course focuses on developing your throwing skills in shot put, javelin, hammer, and discus. Led by an England Athletics registered coach, you’ll learn the essential techniques needed to progress in all four events.

Through a variety of fun and challenging activities, you’ll build strength, skill, and confidence. By the end of the course, you’ll have improved your throwing ability and the opportunity to continue developing with the City of Norwich Athletic Club (CONAC).

Kids Multisport Courses

Our multisport courses are a fun and engaging way for children to stay active, try new sports, and develop important physical and social skills. Research shows that introducing children to a variety of activities at a young age helps improve coordination, confidence, and overall fitness, while also encouraging teamwork and a love of being active.

From superhero-themed games for toddlers to independent sports challenges for older children, our courses provide a safe, supportive environment where kids can explore different sports, make new friends, and have fun while building lifelong healthy habits.

Mini Sport Stars

4 week course | Ages 2–4

Our Mini Sport Stars course is the perfect way to introduce your little one to a variety of sports and activities. This 4-week multisport programme covers four different types of activities, with each week featuring fun themes to keep children excited and engaged.

Parent or guardian attendance is required, giving you the chance to spend quality time together while helping your child develop their physical and social skills. Expect superhero-themed games, imaginary adventures, and lots of opportunities to try new skills!

All sessions are held indoors in our sports halls and Kiff Matheson Suite, providing a safe and supportive environment. Sessions last 45 minutes and are led by qualified, DBS-checked sport coaches.

Sport stars

4 week course | Ages 5–8

Our Sport Stars course is the perfect way for children to try a variety of sports and activities, building on the skills they developed in our Mini Sport Stars programme. This 4-week multisport course covers four different types of activities, with each week featuring fun themes to keep children engaged and motivated.

Parent or guardian attendance is not required, giving children the chance to develop independently while improving their physical and social skills through games and sporting challenges.

All sessions are held indoors in our sports halls and Kiff Matheson Suite, providing a safe and supportive environment. Sessions last 45 minutes and are led by qualified, DBS-checked sport coaches.

Sports Course Tasters

Our tasters are the perfect way for adults and young people to try a sport for the first time. During a taster session, you’ll get an introduction to the key skills and techniques of the sport, giving you a taste of what a full course involves.

Tasters are a great ‘try before you buy’ opportunity, letting you experience our course formats, meet our instructors, and see how we help participants develop their skills over the duration of a course.

Booking a sport course at UEA Sportspark is easy. Simply complete our booking enquiry form with your details and course request. A coordinator will contact you within five working days to confirm your booking and provide a payment deadline. Secure your place by making payment via our Reception team, then get ready to enjoy your activities at Sportspark!

Sport Course Prices

The below pricing is based on a 6 week course and pricing will be adjusted accordingly in relation to course length at the time of booking. Tasters are available to give you an introduction to the course content.
