Our Inclusive Sports Club runs every Wednesday between 11:40 until 13:00 and welcomes disabled groups, disabled individuals (16+) and their carers.
Offering a range of different sporting activities including football, hockey, tennis, circuit training, athletics and more, all sessions will be outside and social distancing guidelines will be followed.
Wherever possible, carers are encouraged to participate in all of the activities. The club costs just £1.50 for customers and is free of charge to carers.
Participants are advised to book with Sportspark before the date due to restricted numbers as all sessions will be social distanced.
Sportspark staff and volunteers will be on hand to clean all equipment
Family members/carers will be responsible for supporting participants with any activity where social distancing cannot be followed.
Watch our YouTube video to see one of our Inclusive Bike Sessions.
Please spread the word about the club and for more information, don’t hesitate to call on 01603 591261.
We are currently only offering outdoor cycle sessions.
On each day the available time will be split into 2 x 45 minute sessions as listed below where 8 cyclists together with a family member or carer will be able to bring their own or borrow the adaptive bikes and enjoy a session.
By using specially adapted cycles, the activities are both physically and mentally stimulating and above all fun. Special Olympics cycling sessions are held at the Sportspark track providing a safe environment for our athletes to hone their cycling skills. There will be opportunities to take part in skill and speed training if cyclists are eager to progress to competition
Cyclists will have to book in with Sportspark before the date due to restricted numbers as all sessions will be socially distanced.
Sportspark volunteers will be on hand issuing the bikes and helmets, giving instructions to the cyclists from a 2m distance and cleaning the bikes down between sessions.
Family members/carers will be responsible for the cyclists, including getting them on and off bikes, escorting them etc. Any activity, which means social distancing, cannot be followed.
The cost of a session will be £1.50. To book a session please call us on 01603 592398.
The dates are:
Sunday 10th October 10:00 – 10:45 11:00 – 11:45
Sunday 7th November 10:00 – 10:45 11:00 – 11:45
This class is for children with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND) and their siblings. One parent/guardian/carer supervising one child is recommended but we will allow two children to one parent. This 45 minute session is for walking – 9 years. It’s a chance for them to come into the gym, explore and play on all the gymnastics equipment with their parent. Every week there will be a different themed set up for them to enjoy. Parents will be fully in charge of their child throughout the session but there is 2 qualified coaches on hand to offer any advice. No music will be played during the session.
For more information, please email Trudi Nicholson, Senior Gymnastics Coach, on T.Nicholson@uea.ac.uk.

This group is held at Sportspark every Monday from 2:30pm to 3:30pm and led by Pearl Cooper. The cost per session is £3 per person. Please report and hand your £3 fee to the volunteer in the Sportscafé, prior to attending the exercise session so we have a full attendance record.
This is an enjoyable, mainly seated, exercise -to-music session for people with Parkinson’s. Carers are welcome to attend*.
*For any new attendee who is accompanied by a carer we ask that the carer remain with the attendee for the initial 2 sessions. This allows Pearl to liaise with the carer, if necessary, following her initial assessment.
If anyone has any queries about these arrangements or requires any clarification please do not hesitate to contact Pearl Cooper (01603 455149). We wish to emphasis these arrangements have been put in place for everyone’s safety.
We hope you will join us and look forward to seeing you.
Most people stay and have coffee/tea in the Sportscafé, at a cost of 55p per person. New friendships, as well as support, are formed from this group. Please come along and have a go. No need to book in advance.
