Please also refer note that our Christmas/New Year opening hours are slightly different and full details can be found at the bottom of this section.

Sportspark offers a 125 station state-of-the art Fitness Centre/Gym, Personal Training sessions led by highly qualified and experienced Fitness Professionals and a timetable of over 60 group exercise classes to suit all abilities including Zumba, Pilates, Indoor Cycle, Circuits, Yoga and many Les Mills' classes including BodyPumpTM and BodyBalanceTM.

Fitness Centre

Further to a brand new extension to our gym in 2014, Sportspark now boast over 125 cardiovascular and fixed weight machines alongside a range of free weights, including 2 lifting platforms, 2 squat racks, plus many more!

All of this state-of-the-art equipment is housed in our air-conditioned gym. We offer all the equipment you'll ever need to reach your fitness and training goals, and alongside our highly qualified Fitness Advisors, you can rest assured you'll be getting the best advice possible.

Our professional team will be able to give you excellent guidance whether you're rebuilding your fitness, recovering from illness or injury, wanting to lose weight, improving your health or maximise your sporting performance.

 

Induction - New Users
To ensure you get the most out of Sportspark's Fitness Center, new users need to book an induction. Inductions are available everyday and if you are a Gold or Silver member your induction is free! Non-members simply pay the Pay & Play price listed in our current price list

Please note that becoming an inducted Fitness Centre user is the only way to gain access to the Functional Studio or Myride®+ Indoor Cycle Studio outside of timetable classes.  Current open-use times are displayed on the Fitness Centre notice board.

Prices

With a wide range of classes, daytime or evening, there's always a class to suit everyone.

Our fantastic air-conditioned studio has a sprung wooden floor and superb views across Earlham Park.  All of our instructors are fully qualified, insured and more importantly welcoming and enthusiastic. They want to make sure that you get the most out of your class.

 

How To Book
Bookings can be made by phone, at the kiosks in Sportspark’s foyer, or online. To make a telephone booking, please call (01603) 592398 between 10:00-21:00 hours, Monday-Sunday, and have your payment card details ready.  Please note that we can’t accept bookings/booking requests via email. Members can book up to 14 days in advance and non-members can book up to 7 days in advance. For further help on booking a Sportspark group exercise class, please refer to our How To Book guide.

Prices
There's no need to be a member, anyone can book onto one of Sportspark's group exercise classes. Non-members simply pay the Pay & Play price listed in our current price list. Prices charged, depend on the length of the group exercise class, i.e., 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 60 minutes.

Group exercises are free to Gold Members at any time*. Off-peak group exercise classes are free to Silver Members. Bronze members pay the members/concessionary price listed in the price list.

Peak times: 16:00-20:30 hours, Monday - Friday
Off-peak times: All other times, including weekends.

*Subject to availability.

 

Class Cancellations for Concession or Non-Members
If you have paid a concession price, i.e. Bronze or Educational member, you are not eligible for a refund, but you will be able to move your booking to class on a new date/time for a fee of £2, subject to availability. (This policy is in line with our standard activity cancellation policy, i.e., no cancellations/movements on the day).

If you have booked a class on a Pay & Play basis (non-member), but need to cancel, no refund will be given and you cannot change class/dates.

 

Class Cancellations for Gold & Silver Members:
Gold and Silver members have the ability to cancel their booked classes up to (but not within) the 3 hours before the advertised start time. You can cancel your class through the online booking site, via telephone or in person, without charge. Please note that the attendance of classes is monitored and Gold & Silver members who book a place but do not show will be charged £3 for an off-peak class and £4.50 for a peak class.

 

Group Fitness Descriptions 

Aerobics & Dance Aerobics
A physical exercise class combining rhythmic aerobics with stretching and strength training routines using high and low impact exercises. Dance Aerobics utilises more dance orientated choreography.

Aquafit
Unlike aerobics on land, Aquafit is low-impact and the cushioning effect of the water protects joints in the spine, ankle, hip and knees.

BODYBALANCE™
A Les Mills’ yoga-based class with elements of Tai Chi and Pilates. Builds flexibility and strength, and leaves you feeling centred and calm.

BODYCOMBAT™
A non-contact, martial arts-based fitness programme with moves drawn from karate, Tae Kwon Do, Kung Fu, kickboxing, Muay Thai and Tai Chi.

BODYPUMP™
This Les Mills’ toning and conditioning class with weights is for anyone who wants to add strength training to their aerobic workout.

Boxercise™
Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee...

The world’s most popular boxing fitness session will leave your stress on the canvas! Use a combination of pad work, skipping and circuits to give you a great all-round session.

Circuit Training
This is a great way of improving your fitness in a balanced and structured way, working within the limitations of your own existing fitness levels, sunder supervision of our staff.

Dynamic Yoga A mix of traditional and oriental yoga, including dynamic flows, breathing practices and meditation to invigorate and balance the entire system. 

Indoor Cycle
Take group indoor cycling to a new level in our amazing Myride®+ Indoor Cycle Studio. Using Lifecycle GX bikes that feature a cycling computer to track your fitness stats throughout your workout there is no more guesswork – just calories burned and constant progression! Check out our monthly theme on our notice boards or our Virtual Myride®+ sessions accessible via the Fitness Centre.

Legs, Bums and Tums (LBT) & Body Conditioning
These aerobics focussed classes are designed to seriously focus on toning and sculpting specific body parts. They combine a mix of high/low impact moves with floor work for ultimate body toning.

Pilates & Fitness Pilates
Developed to offer a conditioning and toning technique that targets the deep muscles supporting the spine and major joints. Fitness Pilates is a more vigorous version that also increases core strength, flexibility and endurance.

Restorative Yoga A mix of restorative, yin and yoga nidra (deep yogic sleep) to help counteract a hectic lifestyle and ease you into a relaxing evening.

Step and Step & Tone
An adaptation on the classic aerobics class involving a step set to a height that suits you. Keep in rhythm with the music while you follow directions from a qualified instructor. Our Step and Tone sessions incorporate additional muscle conditioning exercises using bodyweight, dumbbells or resistance bands.

Synergy Circuit
Using Sportspark’s unique Synergy system, take your fitness level to new heights with a high-intensity workout that covers all bases. Using a multitude of the most innovative functional equipment available, every session will offer a new challenge.

Swimfit™
If you’re looking for an alternative way to work out in the pool, then Swimfit is for you. This swimming fitness workout is led by instructors and will help you achieve your personal goals – whether you want to improve technique, tone-up, lose weight or become fitter and stronger.

Triple Challenge
Step, Aerobics and Conditioning all in one fantastic body-shaping session.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Using breath, body and continual movements, you will flow through a sequence of postures, cultivating self-awareness, self-enquiry, discipline and grace. The practice of vinyasa yoga is cardiovascular and can increase muscle strength, endurance and flexibility.

Yoga
In this class we focus on the postures, including some dynamic poses. Release tension and stress, increase energy levels and learn to relax.

Zumba™ & Zumba Gold™
Zumba™ is a Latin-inspired, dance-fitness class that incorporates Latin and international music and dance movements. Zumba Gold uses the same great Zumba formula but provides modified, low-impact moves for active older adults.

Fitness in Later Life (FILL)
Our FILL programme offers a range of sports and activities for the over fifties and offers you the chance to develop a positive, healthy and active lifestyle amongst people with similar interests. Cycling Performance Training Course - Spring 17

Are you:

· A competitive or recreational cyclist?

· A tri-athlete?

· In need of cycling training during the winter months?

Then this class is for you!!

Sessions will be broken down into blocks of 5 weeks, where we will focus on a different component of Cycling Performance. We will use Heart Rate monitors to assess your performance and use scientific research to ensure your cycling improves.

Block 1 Threshold Training (completed)

Block 2 VO2 Max (completed)

Block 3 Anaerobic Capacity (completed)

Block 4 Collective of first 3 blocks. (16th March 2017)

Just £30 per 5 week block for members (£33 for non-members)

Sports Massage Therapy

Our sports massage therapy sessions offer full body or site-specific myofascial release, trigger points and massage therapy.

Benefits of a sports massage therapy session can include:

• improving posture
• reducing anxiety
• reducing pain and muscular tension
• aiding recovery
• promoting quality of sleep
• reducing headaches and chances of migraines
• correcting muscle imbalance
• more efficient training

Price
£35 for 45 minutes and £25 for 30 minutes.

Fit Kidz - 6 Week Course

Sportspark’s Fit Kidz 6 week course promotes the educational benefits of regular exercise to young people. It is designed for children over the age of 10 years old and under 16 years.

Fit Kidz Graduates

Throughout the Christmas period – Monday 19th December until Monday 2nd January all FitKidz graduates may use the Fitness Centre from 09:00-13:00.

This is in addition to the normal availability of 10am-6pm at weekends. 

Normal Fit Kidz workout prices will apply.

Delivered by our qualified Fitness professionals in a safe and controlled environment, this course will enable juniors to be competent gym users and help them understand various methods of leading a healthy active lifestyle.

Upon completing the course successfully, Fit Kidz graduates are entitled to use the gym, when accompanied by a parent/guardian, between 10:00 and 18:00 at weekends.

Weight Management Course

This course will teach you how to change your eating habits in a realistic and sustainable way, and is suitable for anyone who wishes to manage their health and

A 60 minute one-to-one session including dietary analysis, body composition assessment and nutrition tips.


Complete Dietary Evaluation Package (CDEP)
2 x 60 minute one-to-one sessions and a 30 minute review session. Includes in depth dietary analysis, body composition assessment, SMART goal setting and bespoke nutritional plans.


Seminar Sessions
Informative, fun and practical seminar sessions for groups and teams to help supplement your training plans. From Weight Management through to Performance Nutrition or Fuelling Youth Sportspeople, there are numerous topics to choose from in order to help you achieve your goals.


Essentials In Weight Management Course
A 4 week programme covering all aspects of weight management.  This course is suitable for anyone who wishes to manage their health and fitness and covers subjects like how to change your eating habits in a realistic and sustainable way. You will also learn tips and tricks to help you make healthier choices and share ideas and experiences with other people in the same situation. Courses run at various times throughout the year.

Olympic Weight Lifting Courses

Sportspark's Olympic Weight Lifting Courses are led by James Warren, Sportspark's MSc. Strength and Conditioning and British Weightlifting qualified instructor. The course programme includes 4 x group sessions and 1 x individual PT session and costs just £55.

Lockers

Our lockers operate with a padlock system.  Therefore if you are using our lockers, please bring a padlock with you. We also sell padlocks at reception for £5 or they can be hired for a non-refundable fee of £1.

Please note that lockers are cleared every night after we close (padlocks are cut off if necessary). Locker contents are then stored and logged as lost property, unless they are wet or unhygienic items – in which case they will be disposed of.  Please note that non-valuable lost property items will be kept for 2 weeks, and valuable lost property items are stored for 6 months.
